Goodies- September 2009

Hey yogis! Here’s what I am excited about this month in the world of yoga:

  • My upcoming classes: Williamsburg! Right off the Bedford Avenue L stop! $10 suggested donation; Thursdays 7-8; awesome adventures in yoga. Keep watching this space for all the gory details.
  • Flyers to promote said classes, by the talented Sharlene Leong of the webcomic Sparkly Doom. They have zombies. Hence “gory” details. You’ll see them soon, and if you’re in NYC, hopefully see them posted around town.
  • Namaste Book Club, if you’re a book dork like me. Forums, contests, twitter madness, and a live chat on yoga reading material (anywhere from ancient to modern) on Sunday evenings, 7-9 EST. They’re currently running a daily meditation challenge with cool prizes.
  • The Yoga of Mending a Broken Heart: I found this article lovely. I’m not currently mending a broken heart, so I can’t promise great field testing, but I think the information here can be applied to any particular dating status (in a relationship, dating, not dating, whatever) for tons of sanity and clarity. Someone remind me of this next time I am nursing a bruised ego.
  • This short and sweet bedtime sequence from Yoga Today: I’ve been going to bed early the last couple nights to fight off a nasty bug. I added it to my practice and it calms my mind so well that I’m out like a light as soon as my head hits the pillow. HINT: I don’t care if you’re gumby, use the blanket and strap (or weird round pillow and scarf, for me!).

Enjoy!
